I've worked for over 20 years in the advertising industry and one of the things I've learned is that you never stop learning. Both professionally and personally. I enjoy creative opportunities that challenge me to utilise a wide range of skills and encourage this growth. I believe that being self-disciplined, self-motivated, hard-working and creative with an attention to detail is key to being a freelancer.

For me the main ingredients for a successful business has become Passion, Perseverance, People and Paint. My 4 P's.

Passion: I love what I do. Confucius is quoted as having said: "Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life." This is not always true, but it is better to feel excited about that work!

People: I'm incredibly grateful to my clients who have invested in me. They have inspired and challenged me to improve my technical and business skills, and grow my character. Marketing is really all about relationships and respecting what people want.

Perseverance: There are times when the poop is going to hit the fan; keep calm, wash the walls and keep on going.

Paint: Embracing chaos, colour and creativity is essential to a me as a designer. Keeping it fresh. Keeping it real.

As with most designers I am digitally versatile, but still enjoy stretching my creativity outside the digital arena. I feel that learning new art skills is essential to creative growth. This is why I branched out into acrylic pour painting and teaching art workshops.
